Top 10 Virtual Assistant Resources …

I talk a lot about resources but for a good reason! They help us entrepreneurs manage our businesses and those of our clients with ease. But today isn’t just about any set of resources, this blog post is all about resources for you if you’re a Virtual Assistant (VA) or if you have one and want to share this post with them to help ease their workload and create a more positive/time effective team workflow.

Honestly, every VA needs a toolkit of their very own that both maintains as well as takes their business to the next level.

To help alleviate some of the stressors, I have created FOR YOU a thorough list of some of my most favorite tools that will help optimize your business performance, streamline your workflow and help you make the most of every minute of every day. Okay, ready? Then let’s get started …

Communication is KEY:

Effective communicate is a vital tool for any business owner. Doing such can help you foster a good working relationship with your clients and leads. You want to make a great impression and keep is standing. Even with your team members (if you happen to have any). This why I highly suggest being adaptable with more than one communication tool. Be flexible! I prefer to use Zoom for video conferencing and team meetings, then use Slack and email for the in-between communications. It just makes sense to dabble with a few options, especially when you’re running a virtual business.

When it comes to business you don’t need to learn a new language, you just need to manage a communication tool.

Being Organized is ESSENTIAL:

For those of you who know me and know me well … ORGANIZATION is MY LIFE! It helps me increase my productivity levels, reduces my stress level and helps me meet my deadlines. Now, you can all agree that these are some pretty great benefits – but where should you start?

Besides the obvious of keeping your desk, calendar/planner and your space spick n’ span and up-to-date there’s many great ways to stack on track digitally and gain control of project management. My two most favorite platforms, at this time, are Asana and Trello. Well, three if you include Dropbox! Which is honestly a must if you’re a virtual entrepreneur.

The reason I use two is depending on client preference. I use Asana for my organizational needs as well as communications with a good handful of my clients on a per project basis. But some prefer Trello for larger team projects, so I tend to dabble in there too. Both are highly beneficial for staying organized and on top of things. It all just boils down to preference! Being organized can truly save your life …!

I am also VERY fond of Toggle (for time tracking), Evernote (for physical/voice note taking, lists and reminders) and very recently added a newbie app to my phone called Tasks (to-do list organizer) which help me multi-task when on the road or don’t have access to my desktop.

Okay, just one last favourite … LastPass!

For those of you managing all your accounts/passwords plus the millions for all your client’s things can get a bit sticky and all the characters tend to run together. This platform is not only great for organizing all your accounts/passwords into folders, but it also helps you make your passwords stronger with a secure mater password. The LastPass Vault has truly made my life a million times easier and helps me be more efficient and work quicker. No more stumbling to remember anymore passwords. Because we all know how frustrating it can be for forget a password and try to get it reset.

Never Stop LEARNING:

Education is really the key to success no matter what your age may be! You must pave your own path and craft your own dreams. Education is the key to powering a good life both professionally and personally. As entrepreneurs, we must be duly prepared to face the challenges of the future and build the type of business that is ready to advance at any minute. Our world is very different now than it was just a few years ago (even a few hours ago at the rates platforms/programs advance themselves) and effective leaders are taking notice.

Now, I’m not saying you must be at the frontiers of tech-land in order to guarantee success but being aware the skills today are becoming even more specialized should be enough of a light push towards taking all the necessary steps to evolve in your business. And as a human being.

I seriously cannot stress this enough … learning is lifelong! It’s the answer to a bold, bright and enlightening future. So, please … find the time and keep the momentum going — not just today but all year round.

Crystal is an artist, a writer, an organizer, a dreamer, a doer, and down-right proud of it NERD!.

Struck with a love for #AllThings creative at a very young age, Crystal dreamed of a life fueled by her passion for creating and bringing the stories and images in her mind into reality.

As she worked toward her dreams, she earned a diploma as a Computer Applications Specialist then another in Graphic Design and from there began to develop her extensive background in multimedia and the arts. She began her worked in the magazine industry as a layout designer and had a succession of design jobs thereafter. It was her role as a graphic/web designer that gave her the first real glimpse of her future. Soon she began a side job as a freelance designer while keeping one foot in the corporate world. A spark was lit! She turned her freelance gig into a full-time business combining design work with her other passion: creating organization from virtual chaos.

Crystal is one of the most organized individuals on the planet. She is by all means a Zen master of her crafts. She excels at helping others become “untangled” and provides her clients with tools to run their businesses smoothly while she takes care of the details behind the scenes. Thus Virtually Untangled was born. A successful business where her work as a top notch creative in graphic and web — with a twist of virtual assistant — married into one amazing place where clients can come with their virtual messes and become magically untangled. Crystal can always make sense of even the most unorganized chaos and offers a virtual detox of order and peace, so her clients can get busy doing the work that they love the most.
