Should You Hire a One-Stop-Shop Designer?

Let’s face it and speak the truth!

You’re overworked, over-stretched AND overwhelmed. And you currently cannot dedicate enough time to every aspect of your business desires that you want to execute. Sounds familiar, right?

These are all common signs that you’ve stretched yourself way too thin. The reality is that the “not-enough-time-in-a-day” syndrome may not be a full-time one. Instead, it could be the result of a single large initiative or ramping up of a new program, lead magnet, brand re-design (and so on). What you really need is someone else who can manage your work overload so that you (and your team, if you have one) can move onward and upward with more focus and determination on the core strengths.

I know you know where I am going with this. Outsourcing. For some reason, this can be a dreaded word for entrepreneurs. One that scares us to the bone. Why? Because good help is hard to find. You already don’t have enough time to do the overload of work and ever-growing to-do lists. So, you probably thinking to yourself right now … How do you think I will even find time to hire out for the help I need?

It’s simple really. Hire a “one-stop-shop” designer. This way all your bases are covered (well depending on their talents and strengths of course).

Design is the methods of putting form and content together. Just as art has multiple definitions; there is no single definition. Can be art. Can be aesthetics. It is so simple, that is why it is so complicated. ~ Paul Rand, Corporate Art Director and Graphic Designer

Not only can you save money from hiring in this sense, but you can save time too. You’re results will be speedy and well-rounded with less of that wasteful back n’ forth via email, Asana, Trello, Slack, Zoom … and the list goes on, because you’re only dealing with ONE PERSON for a multitude of tasks.

Now, granted I’m not saying only hire one person as your entire business team. But hiring someone with such a vast range of talents when it comes to creativity allows for a continuous flow throughout all projects you’re working on together, as well as those with others on your team. Think of it this way …

When a sole person is responsible for the creativity, branding, social media graphics, website design (and more):

  • They have already gotten a feel for what your business needs/wants are because you’re allowing their creativity to flow with your brand from one project to another.
  • They have their own programs to work in, so you don’t have to start purchasing all kinds of software.
  • They don’t need training from one project/platform to another (granted, they’ve done this all for their business already).
  • They’re doing what they love for a living so all you have to do is guide them in the direction you want your business goals to land on.

As a result, everything will run smooth like butter, your projects will get completed faster and they are of a much higher quality because everyone involved is working towards the same goal all using their own talents and expertise. In reality, you’ll just have to brainstorm with them to get things going then proof the end results. Leaving you much more time freedom than you ever imagine.

Now imagine that!

So, how would you like your graphic design?

Crystal is an artist, a writer, an organizer, a dreamer, a doer, and down-right proud of it NERD!.

Struck with a love for #AllThings creative at a very young age, Crystal dreamed of a life fueled by her passion for creating and bringing the stories and images in her mind into reality.

As she worked toward her dreams, she earned a diploma as a Computer Applications Specialist then another in Graphic Design and from there began to develop her extensive background in multimedia and the arts. She began her worked in the magazine industry as a layout designer and had a succession of design jobs thereafter. It was her role as a graphic/web designer that gave her the first real glimpse of her future. Soon she began a side job as a freelance designer while keeping one foot in the corporate world. A spark was lit! She turned her freelance gig into a full-time business combining design work with her other passion: creating organization from virtual chaos.

Crystal is one of the most organized individuals on the planet. She is by all means a Zen master of her crafts. She excels at helping others become “untangled” and provides her clients with tools to run their businesses smoothly while she takes care of the details behind the scenes. Thus Virtually Untangled was born. A successful business where her work as a top notch creative in graphic and web — with a twist of virtual assistant — married into one amazing place where clients can come with their virtual messes and become magically untangled. Crystal can always make sense of even the most unorganized chaos and offers a virtual detox of order and peace, so her clients can get busy doing the work that they love the most.
