How to Strengthen Your Brand …

Branding goes way beyond your logo. When you think about your brand, you really want to be thinking about your customer experience in its entirety. Everything from your logo to your website to your social media experiences. Even the way you answer your emails or the phone to the way your customers experience your team members.

If you truly look at the broad definition of branding, it can seem a bit overwhelming to think of everything involved. So, in short … your brand is the way your customers/clients perceive you.

If you ask any successful business owner about the secretes to a business’s success, the answer is almost always going to be branding. Building up your brand is one of the essential ingredients in the recipe for successful business development. Many entrepreneurs make the mistake of neglecting to spend time thinking about their brand in this broad sense and the impact is will have on their business. Knowing your business inside and out is crucial but in order to reach its full potential you will need to sort through a blizzard of information.

Creating content and getting your name out there also means sending the right messages to potential customers (or clients) so that it is able to hold their attention long enough and HARD ENOUGH to hit that critical “buyers mode”. But the ever-growing number of online options …

Brand is the promise, the big idea, and expectations that reside in each customer’s mind about a product, service, or company. Branding is about making an emotional connection. People fall in love with brands -  they trust them, develop strong loyalties, buy them, and believe in their superiority. The brand is shorthand: it stands for something and demonstrates it.

So, to make your entrepreneurial life easier, here are a few tips to consider …

  1. DEFINE Your Brand:
What is it EXACTLY that you do you sell/do/create? Your company mission may be clear to you but being sure that your brand communicates what you do for your customers, clients and prospects is key to creating long-term, long-lasting, ever-pleasing business relationships.

  2. DIFFERENTIATE yourself:
You always want to keep your business at the top of mind and to do that you must highlight what makes you unique. How do you stand in this big, fast, modern world?

  3. Be CONSISTENT:
The information you share with the world should reflect your brand. Therefore, you need to have a consistent style, colour theme, typefaces (remember … never more than 3 outside of the “family) and tone of voice. Don’t be afraid to be creative in your writing to keep readers engaged – Just make sure you’re keeping things consistent throughout all means of communication.

  4. REPEAT Yourself:
It’s been proven (yes, that’s fact) that it takes people 7 to 10 times of seeing and/or hearing the same message/image before they recognize it on their own accord. So why not maximize all the touch-points your audience has with you and your brand?

  5. CREATE Brand Gossip:
People just love to tell anyone and everyone about the brand they truly enjoy and love. People wear brands, listen to brand and even eat them. They are constantly telling everyone around them about the brands that they love. So, on the flip side … you cannot tell someone about a brand you cannot remember! Be memorable … in every way.

The biggest take away from this post is that … consistency leads to recognition and recognition leads to trust.

Crystal is an artist, a writer, an organizer, a dreamer, a doer, and down-right proud of it NERD!.

Struck with a love for #AllThings creative at a very young age, Crystal dreamed of a life fueled by her passion for creating and bringing the stories and images in her mind into reality.

As she worked toward her dreams, she earned a diploma as a Computer Applications Specialist then another in Graphic Design and from there began to develop her extensive background in multimedia and the arts. She began her worked in the magazine industry as a layout designer and had a succession of design jobs thereafter. It was her role as a graphic/web designer that gave her the first real glimpse of her future. Soon she began a side job as a freelance designer while keeping one foot in the corporate world. A spark was lit! She turned her freelance gig into a full-time business combining design work with her other passion: creating organization from virtual chaos.

Crystal is one of the most organized individuals on the planet. She is by all means a Zen master of her crafts. She excels at helping others become “untangled” and provides her clients with tools to run their businesses smoothly while she takes care of the details behind the scenes. Thus Virtually Untangled was born. A successful business where her work as a top notch creative in graphic and web — with a twist of virtual assistant — married into one amazing place where clients can come with their virtual messes and become magically untangled. Crystal can always make sense of even the most unorganized chaos and offers a virtual detox of order and peace, so her clients can get busy doing the work that they love the most.
